My compressor has been rebuilt, fresh 134A refrigerant installed & my mechanic has reviewed Chrysler Master Tech Serv Conference Bulletin 71-4 on Auto Temp-II & reports all equipment is operating correctly; yet still the AC does not produce cold air (blows warm air). We have located & ordered a dryer & need to obtain an expansion valve for my Imperial; Does any member have one or know a source for one? Thanks!

In general, expansion valves are somewhat generic in nature. Method of attachment to what size piping, angles of attachment, or similar are some of the major differences. If you know what yours looks like and the pipe sizes, then getting into the back of an a/c parts book, in the "Buyer's Guide" section, where each part is detailed, might be a good way to find a replacement.

At what charge level is the system now at? R-134a normally takes about 90% less gas than an R-12 system.

Just some thoughts,
