My good friend John and I made a day of it Saturday and bought this wagon from a derby guy. Other than the windshield washer reservoir it's complete. Was told that it wouldnt turn over, but a screwdriver on the starter relay proved otherwise.

All along I believed it was tan in color, until we began to wash it off...it's coded GY4 which seems to be "Sunrise Yellow". The interior is really dirty too. There's lots of evidence of mice, a dead bird in a pool of some sort of liquid, and literally a snake shed in the glove box.
Not sure what's going to happen to it. It has a large hole in the drivers floorpan, but the rear framerails are solid as a rock. I'm leaning towards patching the floors and putting it into year round duty. I'll continue adding pics as I tear into it.

You’re right. We never towed with a 360.
We had a 360 SF in 71 that kinda struggled when loaded headed to Fl. for spring break.

Glad you saved it! I like the idea of putting it back in service too. Always good to see one being driven instead of sitting in a garage to be looked at.

Great find! I almost bought the same type of wagon to save her but way too much money and the frame front and back was totally rotten. I do like the look of them front ends!
 
Hope to spend a good couple hours tomorrow tearing into it, so I should have some updates.
I've been searching the web and found a pic of what it's going to look like with hideaways...I think it looks good both ways, but I have a soft spot for flip up lights

Some proper wheels on it for the time being. Forgot about an appt I have at noon today, should be able to make some progress and updates afterwards

Spent the day swapping around the wheels/tires on all 3 different wagons, here they are up in the air at the same time.

Aw, man! Why's everyone gotta convert the grilles in the '72 Plymouths? They will all be hideaway grilles in five years!

Just giving you a hard time, I just think all you '72 owners just need to, well, buy another to have the set, one of each, that's all I'm saying. :lol:

That's quite the fleet of wagons you've got there, I think you're onto something.
 
Ok had a pretty good day today, made a little progress. Drained both the crankcase and the trans pan. There is evidence on the wheels and axle that this wagon sat in several inches of water at some point, was relieved to see there was zero contamination, all the oil looked normal.
Soldered the neutral safety wires back together and now the ignition switch operates properly again.

Next I focused on straightening the front bumper. It appeared to have hit something low that pushed it back a couple inches and slightly up. My wife helped spot as I tugged on it from a few different spots with my blue Monaco. A couple pictures of what we started with...

And here's how it turned out, I'm very pleased. To top things off, as things straightened up, a spare key fell out of its hiding place and hit the floor!

Last thing I was able to get at today was the seats. Pulled the split bench out, and the rear bottom which revealed a build sheet. Tomorrow I'm gonna spend plenty of time with the vacume attacking the nasty interior. Unkle Xenon is stopping by too, maybe we will try to get the engine started!
