Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum, but not to C-bodies.
I picked up a car yesterday like I’ve wanted since I’ve been fooling around with cars. (35+yrs). It’s a 72 Polara with a 360 . No AC, not many options. It’s pretty solid as it seems most green cars I encounter are.
I’ll be posting here my progress and experiences with this project as I go and look forward to reading your comments and input.
Hauling it home yesterday....

Welcome aboard, Looks like a nice straight car. Did you want this exact car for 35 years?

I got it from eBay, and the seller was not “ The Great Communicator”.
Nor was he a photographer.
But,I could tell by the pics it was what I had been looking for, and the price was reasonable. It didn’t run, he didn’t know if the brakes worked or much of anything else, other than to say it was solid. The carb was in the trunk along with a rebuild kit. I took the plung and hauled it home. I immediately went through the carb and put in on the car, and it fired up with much exhaust noise. Both motor mounts had broken at some point long ago, causing the engine to drop down and mangle the passenger side exhaust from the manifold. I got that all fixed today and did a little cleaning on the front bumper and one wheel...

Those wheels will be up for trade/sell if anyone is interested. They’re 4 wheels, and 1 complete center cap. Almost new Goodyear aqua tread tires

I drove the car today for about a mile. It drove bad, shifted good, stopped great, The big 2bbl Holley performed as most I’ve had the displeasure to own perform. Coughing, popping, sneezing all the way. The radiator hemorrhage’s antifreeze like it has been shot with birdshot. Thumping and clanking noise filled the air and a I loved every second! All the pics I have right now.

I’ll be cannibalizing this 73 for parts,
Such as its 9.25” 3.50 Sure grip.
Does anyone need any parts from it?

Maybe that's too many options. I'm gonna guess that he wants pickle-dipped steelies with dog dish hubcaps.
Lol, for the record, I didn’t set out for a green machine like this one but, I had to take what I could find! So, I figure I’ll embrace the green until I get enough grit in my craw the paint it the color I want. (Honey Gold)

The 73 has a running 400 .060 over, with a hodgepodge of aftermarket stuff on it such as Edelbrock Tarantula, Carter competition carb, aluminum water pump and housing, headers and a rebuilt 727. Some kind of aftermarket cam. Probably pushing 200 horse power!

I like your style. It's nice to see a down-market plain Jane getting some love.

For some reason I always liked the plain Jane, taxi, fleet, unmarked police, low optioned mopars.
I especially like the last few years of the Polara. Those 72s look menacing and angry. They look as if they have just seen their own reflection in a window for the first time and are now searching for their creator to exact revenge upon him for making them so frightfully disfigured!

Well said, there's something about the 72 that looks angry. I'm working on a 72 Polara police car so I'll be watching your progress. Welcome and good luck.

Well, after surfing around this site I noticed that my cars previous owner also had put it on here! He didn’t keep it long. Hopefully I’ll get farther than he did.
