It will be interesting to see what this closes out at today. It is not an original K VIN code car, but the amount of real police stuff in it is amazing.

There is a lot of work that went into that car for a very reasonable price. I suspect the price will be higher than 12k.

I wouldn't think they would order hidden headlights on a police package. Last thing you would want would be a malfunction in an emergency situation. I understand it's a replica but....

wrong, my first job was in 1977 working as a full service "Clark" gas station. There was a Wisconsin trooper that came in every night with a '77 Dodge Royal Monaco with the hideaway headlights.

It’s easy to disengage the headlight covers on a Royal Monaco. The headlights are always exposed on my Royal.

I wasn't intending to question the legitimacy ( I no authority, just seems odd) of hidden headlights being part of a police package, but why? So let me try this again. With a chance of a malfunction in the headlight covers at a most inopportune time why order hidden headlights on a police package? I know they can be manually opened and left there. If that's what ends up having to be done why get them in the first place?

This represents the cars the NJ State Police used then, saw them sitting in the median between Lake Hopatcong and Parsippany watching for anybody doing more than the 55 MPH limit.

They probably should have offered a no headlight cover option for police, but as far as I know on the Monaco the last year you could option open headlights was 1975. There was a policy Fury available in 1977 with open headlights, not sure if it was made 75-77 though.

Hey, my brother also lives in Joliet and drives a squad. I'm somewhat familiar with your town, as I worked from 1995-2015 at the large mining vehicle assembly plant that just closed down.
This display on RT 53 is pretty neat. 20181113_090922.jpg
Are you aware of the C body gathering in Volo this summer on June 22? You should bring your Monaco out, it would be nice to meet up.

Brian from Berwyn mentioned a whole set of possibilities June 21 to 23rd. I'll definitely be around for some of it!

I'm guessing most PD's just opened them and unplugged them. I wonder if any of these cars saw screen time in the BB and HSB?

I planned to do the same with mine in the winter, but they've been working just fine, so meh.
