This is a highly optioned and rare Dodge Magnum. Options include the very rare E58 4 barrel 360, T-Tops, center console, bucket seats. The car is in very good condition for the age of the car. It has a few rust spots on the body but undercarriage is rust free. The 360 engine is not original but is period correct. The car runs and drives but has some minor issues. Basically it is a very solid project car that could very easily be a show car or daily driver. $3,900 or trade for vintage sports car, Jaguar, Healey, Triumph, MG, Corvette, Mustang, or Jeep CJ5 CJ7, plus or minus cash. Projects are fine

And with that NOM 360, and a missing lean-burn system, I can see the letter from the DMV now: "Not Available for Sale in California."

The car appears to be a 1978. If so there was no 360 four barrell for that year.

NOTE: ☆ Five Different 360ci 4bbl (E58) Engines!
Thanks to the reinvention of the Chrysler 300 in 1979 the E58 360's horse power was increased from the 1978
by 20 more horses! That brought the horse power to the same as the 1978 400ci hp engine but with less weight!

My 78 Chrysler Data Book says all E58 360 H.D. engines requires the A36 Heavy Duty Package. Do we know if the fender tag has the A36 code on it? My data book indicates that the E57 360 2 BBl and the E56 360 4 bbl (High Altitude) has ELB. The E58 360 4 bbl H.D. engine doesn't indicate that it has ELB.

I've never seen the scoops before. I assume they were aftermarket?

What can I say, Peter?
I don't know that much about these cars so we'll just need to keep an open mind, I guess.

whether or not it had the E58 originally is irrelevant if it is not there now. Just like an orig hemi car that does not have the orig engine anymore, there goes the value, at least to a purist.

72-74 Barracuda hood sections grafted onto the Magnum. Nice try but looks off.
I've seen many attempts to give last generation B bodies muscle car touches like scoops and 99% have looked terrible.

Seller claims the E58 is "period correct". That's scary. Where did the parts come from? Many unanswered questions. Look like a converted 2bbl car, which the data plate should verify, as would the VIN. Price seems a little high, with all of the "changes" made to the car.

Not a really rare car, especially when new. Magnum GTs were rare, especially with the 400HO engine.

Considering how the similar Cordoba tail light lenses separated from their housings, that might explain the possibly incorrect lenses on this car?

He ran out of money buying the decals that why you only get one.

More than likely the NHRA is a factored horsepower number because the cars probably killed the index, typical NHRA vs. Mopar.
