1964 Chrysler 300K

This 1964 Chrysler 300K was sold new in California and is powered by a 413ci V8 backed by a TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The previous owner purchased the car in Hollister in 1990 with a replacement 440ci V8, but was able to locate the believed-original engine along with other factory parts. It was eventually refurbished with an engine rebuild and a repaint. The car was sold and transported to Pennsylvania and repainted a second time. Acquired by the seller two years ago, it has been driven about 1,500 miles seasonally since. During that time, it received a carburetor rebuild and fuel system flush, as well as thorough mechanical inspection and regular fluid changes. This 300K is being sold with a car cover, original parts manual, a small collection of spares, and a clean Iowa title in the seller’s name.

The Rosewood finish was reapplied once in the 1990s and again by the previous owner in Pennsylvania. The bumpers and trim were re-chromed in the 1990s and are said to remain bright. A few flaws are detailed in the photos and a video below. The has been stored it in a climate-controlled garage when not in use and during winters.

Factory hubcaps were sourced by a previous owner. The lines of the 300K are defined by the 18′ overall length and the pillar-less design.

Air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power seats, and an AM/FM radio were factory equipment. The interior has been refurbished, and the seller notes a slight separation on the corner of the drivers seat as seen in the video below. All equipment is said to be functional except the clock, and the radio is described as requiring some time to warm up. The front passenger bucket seat has a reclining function, a feature indicated by original advertising material below. The 65,965 indicated miles are believed correct.

The Pearl White vinyl upholstery was redone by a previous owner, likely in the late 1990s. The rear bench cushions look to have held their shape, and lap belts are equipped.

The factory 413ci wedge-head V8 had been replaced by a 440 at some point, though it was located with a spun bearing and rebuilt in 1991. Shifting is handled by a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic, which was rebuilt in 1990. While in the seller’s possession, the carburetor has been rebuilt, the fuel system cleaned, and brakes and suspension checked. The idler arm was replaced and the engine bay detailed prior to sale. Mechanical restoration work performed in the 1990s is detailed in a history shown in the gallery. The car receives twice-yearly oil changes with Mobil One synthetic oil, and will be serviced prior to delivery.

The engine block casting stamp can be seen above. The believed-original engine was located in 1990 by a previous owner and was rebuilt with custom pistons, heads, and a crank sourced from a donor long block.

Nice car, how many times can they mention "previous owner" in one ad?

Lovingly maintained, drop dead gorgeous 300K in an amazing period color. Surprising that bids aren't higher than this.........

That's what I like about the BaT auctions.
The sellers are usually private owners and way above the intelligence of Joe "Summit" Chevy.
The cars are highly scrutinized by the BaT readers and the seller along with car are under the microscope.
If you read BaT daily, you'll be amazed at the sell through rate at fair market prices.

Lakeland Lash, et al, are not welcome at BaT.

If you have a very nice a/o interesting car for sale, F++k eBay and CL.
Spend the hundred bucks and list it on BaT.

How BaT Auctions work
BaT Auctions are designed to provide the best possible experience for buyers and sellers alike. Here’s how they work:

  1. Sellers submit their cars to BaT from all over the world, and we select the most interesting and exciting ones to list for auction exclusively on our site.
  2. We work with sellers to help them craft an honest and informative listing for their vehicle using the seller’s facts and photos.
  3. Auctions are live for 7 days with unique-to-BaT features like community comments (these help people bid with confidence), bidding charge holds (to help ensure quality bidders) and sniping protection (to give everyone a chance and help sellers get the best possible price).
The listing process is fast and affordable: sellers pay only $99 to list their vehicle, and it usually takes us about a week to go from a thorough submission to a live auction.

When I saw the heading for this thread, I was thinking, "who's putting a price of 300k on a C body"?

Wow very classy. Love the color combination. Nice to see a well loved car.

Couldn't buy a new Toyota Corolla for that. Cheap. Sad these cars aren't admired more.
