I know these didn't come in C's, however being a C only fella, I'm not on any other forums, but I know some members here are multi faceted mopar nuts. Picked up a 71 Polara parts car with a 360 and 340 intake. Curious to know if this is an original carburetor also is the manual choke original or Jerry rigged?

This is defiantly a rigged set up. The only factory manual choke I have ever seen from Chrysler was the 71 hemi, and this ain't one of those

According to a quick search, that carb is a later replacement Carter AFB...625CFM w/electric choke. Original carb would be a Thermoquad #4973s....1971 340 A/T

I bought new 73 Ralleye Challenger with a 340 with a T/Q. That definitely wasn't original equipment for a 340.

Plus the date code of C6 indicates March of, likely, 76 or 86 so not original.

All Challenger's with 340's had a T/Q 1970-1973 except the T/A model.

Thanks for all the input folks, mostly would have felt bad not knowing and having a 70 T/A numbers matching carb in a C body. Now I can flog it to my hearts content without feeling too guilty. [edit] Crap, just reread your last post 1978 NYB, 70 T/A was a six pack right? In that case any other numbers matching 340.
