383 oil psi

i just got some gauges for my 383 2 barrel in my 66 newport 383 2 barrel.i see most oil psi lines have oil mine has non and says it has 45 psi at idle.it rises when i accelerate this is good psi?ive hade probably 50 plus old classics and this is the first car ive put or had oil psi gauge in.when i took the valve covers off a few weeks ago to replace the gaskets the rockers and heads were really nasty with baked on flackey looking deposits everywhere.im also thinking about every oil change adding a few quarts of marvel mystery oil like i did when i seen how nasy it was

The book says 45 - 65 PSI is normal.
For 47 years old, that's damn good.

damn now its 25-30 at idle it idles pretty low though about 500 rpms

That's adequate too, when it goes away completely turn it off.

Usually have around 50-55psi at when mine is at idle speeds.

Don't worry about it. Just keep the RPM's under 10,000...

Oil pressure @ 2000 RPM..... 30-80psi
