Old Man with a Hat
I have had this old root beer fountain service barrel for almost 25 years now. I no longer have a place to display it, so.... It needs a new home. Made by Multi Plex in St Lewis in the 1940's and was in service in a Woolworth's soda fountain in Wyandotte Michigan until they closed in 1967. It's fully functional, self contained, with a refrigeration unit built in. (Man, this thing is heavy). You just need to add a CO bottle and syrup of your choice, or beer....!
The barrel is wooden slats, hickory I think with stainless bands. cast claw feet, original lid with a wood knob, the original bakelite & chrome dispenser nozzle works great.
I'm asking $750.00 for it, but I might be a little proud, so if interested, make an offer. It will need to be picked up here in LA.... (lower Alabama).
