After reading a couple of posts about 440Source water pumps housings and causing operating temperature to be higher than normal I decided to remove the one on our New Yorker. After I got it off and checked the output passages (lower) found they were about half as big as the original cast iron housing. Spent the morning swapping them out. Thinking the car should run cooling at highway speed with the A/C on and about 90 degrees plus outside.

Made in China. Even the MoPar Performance ones, that not long ago were made here are Asian made. It's a shame that this stuff can't be made to specs here in the USA.
If I'm not mistaken, the US Mags I just looked at are made oversees.

Just got back from a test drive. With the A/C on and 90 degrees outside the car run at 190 degrees. A drop of at least 20 degrees maybe more.

The one thing I like from 440Source is the adjustable oil pump pressure regulator.

I need to be educated but why does one need to regulate there oil pressure? I’ve ran a high pressure oil pump since 1998 and it was the best move I made 250,000 miles ago.

It has allowed me to set the oil pressure at what I want. Not just swap out springs. That’s all.

Curious . . . what is the desired oil pressure target you have? That you need an additional oil pressure regulator?

It's because everything isn't shitty from there.

My 493 stroker kit came from there. The crank was checked and needed no correction. The rods weighed what they said to the gram. The big end was correct OOTB. The small end was honed to size for the pins that came with the Ross pistons. My machinist's idea of close enough is measured in ten thousandths of an inch.

Now their Comp Pro Magnum knock off rockers were unusable OOTB and by the time I corrected all their problems I could have bought the real thing and been still using them. Yep they died.

That being said while all the other vendors are still selling the same basic piece of crap rocker, Brandon took his off the market.

Now those Ross pistons didn't hold their expansion tolerance for their piston to wall spec and are now scuffed slightly.

The Edelbrock heads came with a Briggs and Stratton valve job and the MP M1 intake came nowhere close to fitting OOTB. It took .070" to get it to fit properly. It only took .007" to zero and square the block so was it the intake or the heads that were FUBAR?

As far as I'm concerned, China doesn't come close to having the poor quality control market cornered just yet.

I went for about 25-30psi hot idle without the A/C on. Running 10-30 Lucas Hot Rod oil. 440Source calls it a regulator. It is a screw and lock nut allowing your to set your oil pressure. Goes in place of the spring nut on the oil pump. When I first started to adjust the pressure I screwed the screw in too far and had 100 psi.

I remember reading a post a while ago about one of the water pump housings with too small passages and the poster opened them up to match the original iron housing.

The ports can be opened up. No different than porting a head.

I'm glad to hear this. If my 440 wears out or breaks I would love a stroker 440 with a mild cam with gobs of torque and lots of vacuum.
