Cool, but... it's great for the (insert adjective here) that will buy them and stash them away, only to sell if they can make $50k+ on their flip. Same way I feel about a Demon. No way will I ever get one, only if I want to overpay (IMO). Cool idea, but not for the common man. I'd still love to have one though.

What was the price of the original then factor in inflation. I suspect the 2020 is more than inflation is taken into account.

How much more is the dealer gonna charge over the 75,600 price?

Hmm. Was this one of the test models I saw in Denver last week? Charger, Challenger and Durango.
Challenger had roll cage and no rear seat with a manual transmission. The Charger was automatic.

Yawn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

It's bad enough that current owners of many of these cars are trying to change history,,
Now you have a major manufacturer not only trying to change history, but fails at math in doing so....

1969 Daytona = 503
1969 + 50 = 2019

In 1971 I paid $1750 for my first car which was a 1969 Super Bee with a 383. The car had less than 5000 miles on it when I bought it.

New Hellcat's Chargers & Challengers have been selling right around $100k in my area. The latested discount knocks another $10k off the price. I haven't tried to negotiate for one....yet.

I think I can get a new one for about $75k.

Yah. Do it. That Scat Pack Charger jut doesn't cut it anymore.

As I recall, when the first Hellcats came out, Chrysler was monitoring the end transaction price to ensure that dealers didn't "Availability Charge" the deal. They wanted the cars on the street, not on the lots with additional window sticker charges. That was good, I believe. Kept the prices as Chrysler intended in the first place. They wanted the cars "on the street and strips", not sitting on a lot gathering dust.

NOW, with all of the hype about Hellcat this and that, which I feel has diluted the situation too much, they want $75K for a car that is a "halo car" for them? A Common Man's Dodge? With that low production, which Hellcats are anyway, even if the Real Dayton's production figures might have been fudged a bit, back then.

Perhaps the $75K is reasonable for a SEDAN that can possibly challenge a base Corvette in performance?

Guess they are trying to split the different in model years between the Daytona (1969) and Superbird (1970) since the former Plymouth was possibly combined with Dodge? Or did they have to wait due to federal CAFE averages for the brand?

To many, it'll be a "collectible car", but to others, "Just another Hellcat Dodge". In any event, it'll be a great car, for those that care. Hope it doesn't repeat the sales of the original wing cars!
