I went to the demolition derby in Turlock California
last night and there was guy there with a 62 Chrysler 4dr! Looking closer I noticed the 57 Plymouth horn ring with white steering wheel and in you can see the black floorboards!!!!!!
He said he got car from scrapyard.
Threw away all interior and big block motor and put 360 in.
I’m a big fan of demo derbies, but damn a solid CHP car!!!!! Could not see fender tag becuase door was welded shut.

I'm not a fan of Demo Derby jerks that ruin nice C Bodies. Anyone ever notice how many new members join this site? I've often wondered how many of them are Derby guys trolling for C Bodies to destroy.

I went to a big farm sale years ago. There were 5 or 6 Big Gran Furies-Nebraska State Patrol cars. The Derby dicks bought them all, and you know the rest! Sad!

even worse...knew guys that worked in a repair shop...when imperials etc came in for repairs they'd make copies of the keys and knew the addresses from the invoice...they'd go back and steal them later...and demo them

Kinda like when we put Mickey Mantle and Hank Aaron baseball cards on the spokes of our bikes! Stupidity is eternal!

Hurts to watch but what we are seeing is just remnants. I can remember all those 70's cars and thed y were only 10 years old. Not a single dent and perfectly rust free every one of them.

The saving grace in my home town was that it was nearly exclusively a gm and ford community.
I think it was 175 miles to the nearest dodge dealer. I think that's why I loved Mopars. You never saw them.

Travelers would come in but Imperials were not allowed.

Today there is some big money in it so they can justify sending some money on a good car.

I drug home my first car with tractor when I was 14. I hid it behind the barn hoping to part it out before my parents found it. It was a 73 olds delta 88. I had pipe dreams of putting the 455 in and old truck.

My local grade school had a carnival and for a quarter you could take a swing at that car with a sledge hammer. It was a perfect car. Donated by a local. I must have spent $15 myself before I jumped on the roof and swung at the windshield and broke the handle on the roof.

The principal knew me from my time in the school and said if I could drag it off I could have it.
I never got that motor running but my buddy put in a bright red 53 international pickup in high school with huge tires on the back and tiny one on the front on chromies. The steering was horrible but the truck was awesome. He lived my dream.

But point being there was a time when most guys that were into these big cars were derby guys.

They probably got pissed when people started trying to save them and rsn up the cost.
