Ooo, nice car although I would take this 64 2 door. The docent who owns this is a retired airline pilot and a former pilot of a Huey and Cobra helos in Vietnam. Super nice and low key guy and you would have no idea except a hint seeing his newer Corvette with Purple Heart plates.

The main reason I posted this car is because of its weirdness.
A Galaxy 500 XL 4 dr hdtp w/4 spd??
FWIW, my Fantasy Wish List includes a 1963-1/2 fastback BB 4 spd.

Drag race rules likely required it back in the day. Keep in mind it was a "sympathetic" restoration by the son to what it was as the original owner was prepping for competition.

Interesting. I was actually wondering if it had one of those automated fire fighting systems. Where you have bottles in the engine bay and you just push a button and the extinguisher activates.

I love the '63-4 Galaxies, especially with 4-speeds. I do like the '64 better than the 3.

Interesting - I couldn't remember if it was 60 - 61 or 61 - 62... I put in 62 for a search and got lots of images saying 62. Likely incorrect!

Then I'm sure you heard about that nice Toronto owned 63 427 drag car all restored back to street with only 24,000 miles that sold at auction recently.

$350,000 Canadian, way over the presale estimates. Gorgeous.

Interesting. If that had been my father's car and then turned over to me you would have to pry my cold dead hands off the wheel before giving it up. I just spent the morning back and forth between CSAA and CHP getting my father's last car ( he gave up driving) registered into my name.

Punch it up a notch and be the only one at the show.

That one cracks me up. I don't know what Ford was thinking. If you look closely the back panel is from the Galaxie of that year. Ford simply switched trunk lids and then slapped those tail lights in. Ugly as now the lines are all over the place.

I like it.

Ford was bleeding money huge on the Edsel by then - it was only a few months from being killed, so the engineers were told to go light on the corporate coffers for the styling.
