Well to day I removed the stub frame from the 66 and the 65. I put the 65 stub back under the 66. I cleaned up the fire wall from the pinch weld down and use spray on bed liner (plastikote number 264) to give it a protective coat from the pinch weld to just past were the stub frame mounts. I got the 66 stub cleaned up and washed so tomorrow I can paint it black (john deere blitz black) I still have to remove the brake lines and fuel line. They will get replaced. Then after it dries I'll put the 66 stub under the 65.

On a side note I found a A833 tranny from a mopar guy in the next town over. $500. I didn't think that is to bad. It's out of a B body but not sure which one. It's the b&t so I'll have the use my b&t drive shaft. Other then that I haven't got much else done. Did swap doors from the 66 to the 65 last weekend. So I have better doors to play with.

Oh I have. Just I'm on my phone and it's not very easy to post pics on the phone. I'll have to put them on the computer then post them.

Well today was a rainy day. I'm not complaining cause we need it. But I did get some done. I removed the brake lines from the 66 stub and cut the sway bar brackets and clutch bracket from the 65 stub and got them welded on the 66 stub. And got the stub painted. Tomorrow I'll get it mounted to the 65. It's drying as I write this. I'm thinking of upgrading the front to disc brakes or splitting the lines so if I loose a wheel cylinder I will still be able to stop. If I do the disc brake what's the most common or easiest car to remove the parts I need?

One cheap way for front disc brakes would be to buy the adaptor from Scarebird. They give you a list of easy to find parts that you use with their caliper adaptor that you can get at most auto parts stores.

That not to bad of a deal as long as you keep recorders of what you used. Thanks

Most of their setups are made for people that want to use over the count parts from an auto parts store. They supply you with the caliper mounting bracket and all the parts numbers for the remaining parts needed. Most of their setups run less than $400-500 by sourcing everything yourself. You'll probably be paying around $200 or more for a used Mopar setup and then have to clean/rebuild everything.

Here are some pics of the stub swap.

I'll have to check it out when I'm up that way next weekend. Man I can't believe the time is flying by so quickly. I'll get with you later this week and get your address. Looks good buddy!

Look foward to seeing you!

looking good, what paint did you use on the stub?
It's just some john deere gloss enamel nothing to fancy. Same stuff I shot on my GMC's frame and it's held up pretty good. It's like $20 for the quart of paint and quart of reducer. If I was building a top show car I would have had it blasted and powder coated.

Well a couple days ago I got the stub under the 65 and squared it up to the body. Now I'm goin to fit all the front pieces back together to get it all fitted right and how I want the gaps to look.

Man I wish I was working on mine lately. Sounds like you are making some good progress. Heck are you going to have it running by the time I get there? LOL. Look forward to seeing it in person. Hopefully when I get back from this trip I will be able to get back to doing some work on it again. Keep up the good work and as always we want proof that you did the work. Lets see some picks man!:poke:

Great job! I can't help wondering why all of these stub frames, 1965-1969, look identical to my 70 vert? Any chance you could measure the distance between the two rear outside mounting holes? It could open up some swappable opportunities for me. Thanks in advance.

James

I've already got it mount back under the car. But I'll try and get you some measurements.
