Very nice. I have to do my 73' Imperial engine bay. Engine will be removed, however not wanting to remove all in the engine bay hoses and wiring. Any special tricks to painting with wires and hoses in place?
The only thing I removed was the air cleaner. Everything else I painted with a brush. The block and manifolds were no problem because they are cast iron. The valve covers and everything else you just have to be careful not to leave streaks. The engine bay fenders and firewall were simply cleaned thoroughly and I wiped them down with olive oil. It helps to tape certain sections off and as for the wires and hoses just get some twist ties (or something similar) to keep them out of the way. I was very pleased with the results. After painting you will need to let the engine run for 20 minutes or so to let the paint cure. Then if you still see streaks you can touch things up. It helps to have brushes of all sizes with foam & bristles.
