Hi everyone, my name is Dustin, from southern central PA but currently reside southwest of Pittsburgh. So I’ve always been a Chevy guy (Dad is a Chevy guy) and I’ve owned well Over 40 GM products but I’ve never had anything really nice, I had several kind of nice 10 footers though. So a couple years ago I started a family and I sold a K10, an S10 with a mild 350 and my 82 c10. I paid off bills and said I would buy something later. So I’ve been saving for a 50’s 3100 Chevy and was looking but kept thinking about how only one of us could really go on trips with dad in his bucket seat truck when I was a kid. So I decided to give up on a truck dream and look for a family ride. I came across the the 300 on FB marketplace and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever even looked at a classic Mopar sedan as an option. I went and looked at it and I was sold. Bought it the same day, 2 Saturdays ago and been driving the hell out of it. I’m really enjoying that I can load the family in the car a go cruise. Someday I’ll get my truck though.
It has a little rust on the bottom of the doors and rear quarter panels, but the floors and the rest of the car is solid. 65k on the odometer, 3rd owner I Think, has the certacard under the hood. I’m learning, that’s why I’m here, heat works but I need to manually actuate it under the dash as the button do not change anything ( been watching some utube vids on that). This winter I am going to learn, tinker with some small items and make a plan for the spring.
Going to be researching updating the front suspension, tightening it up. Disc brakes up front and all new lines and e-brake cable. (Been researching disc brake kits from I think his name is Ramman, he puts together factory kits with newer c body spindles and also the kits from BBS). I will have some other questions along the way. Good to meet you all here are some pictures
