    can anybody tell me if the torsion bar bracket/tranny mount from a 66 dodge or Chrysler C body will a 66 fury 111 convertible...thanx

    That cross member should be the same. It's the actual stub frames that are different.

    hi ross...thanx...are the stub frames the two short outer ones?...will I have to replace them with Plymouth convertible or can they be off a 4 door?

    The whole front frame assembly is known as a stub frame, and bolts to the body shell essentially under the front seat area.

    I believe you can replace it with one from any 66 Plymouth Fury. Although they look nearly identical, Dodge and Chrysler stub frames are longer and won't fit.

    Here is a picture of a 1966 stub frame. The area at the top is where the cross member goes.

    thanx ross...previous owner torched off cross member(lazy I guess) about an inch from torsion bar. can I box it in and fab up my own cross member?

    It would have to be a good job... I'd just get another stub frame...
