I'm awaiting a new purchase to be shipped. The car does not have floor mats, and I hate truly generic mats. I'm not finding any mats available specific to the year or model. Is there a good substitute from a different year or model?

Thanks!
Joe

I saw on ebay a few possibilities. I just typed in 1966 Monaco.

I appreciate the response, but I think most of those are more generic mats. I'm trying to find something close to original. Some of the suppliers make them for other molar models, and I'm trying to determine if any of those might fit well. Does anyone have pictures, an accessory manual, or dealer brochures that show what was available in 1966?
Thanks again, Joe

On the ACC site, I looked up floor mats for a '68 Chrysler 300. Here is what I found:

15078 Complete 1967-1971 Chrysler 300 Floor Mat 4pc Loop (FM364F, FM18R) $195.00

I believe these mats would be suitable for a '66 C-Body too.

One more time. . . I checked the Stock Interiors site (they sell ACC carpets) and I found the previously mentioned mats:

6575 '67-'71 Floor Mats, Set of 4 - Front and back $104.95

Such a deal!

Actually 1966 are different. Straight from a 2 different companies. I haven't done it yet, but I traced an original set and plan on sending them out to be custom made. They will be carpeted mats never found anyone who would do rubber mats. You could also just lay some heavy paper and trim until you get the right shape.

Any upholstery shop can make them for you once you have made the pattern.

I figured that since the floor pans are the same / similar, they should be pretty close. We'll see. I ordered a set. . .

I always felt that this is an area that someone needs to remake vinyl floor mats. They can be of various colors with period correct generic emblems to stay away from expensive copyrights. You could make a full sized one that could be trimmed to suit a smaller car. Why has not someone done this already?

Let us know once you get them!

Well. . . Here ya go. The mats arrived today, and I put 'em in place. Despite the minor curling due to the shipping box, I think they fit pretty well:

Nice, I just remembered my hang up is the center console. Looks good in your car.

I think you are right. It looks like it would just kiss the console. Definitely better than what I have in there now. :)

Those are nice, looks like you chose "cut pile" carpet? I just ordered a set today but opted for the 60/40 material which is what my carpet is. $108 total to my door. Did I blunder making that choice?

edit: I mean 80/20 not 60/40 whoops.

Do you mean the 80/20 loop. That is what came from the factory in my '66 and is what I put in the car when I redid the carpeting. I love the look. Just looks right in the car. I plan on ordering the loop once I get some samples to match my carpet.

Yes 80/20 not 60/40, I had a senior moment I guess. Good to know that's a good choice for mats. I was second-guessing myself.
They are quick to send out the samples.

I went with the heavier plush mats, because I think their extra weight not only looks good, but also helps keep the mats in place.

Those do look great. For me it turns out the plush is not an option because it doesn't come in the same green as my carpet. If they slide around I will see if I can figure out a way to keep that from happening.

Are those the "Plush cut pile" pr the "Ultra Plush cut pile +57.72"? I want to buy a set like yours...
