Have most of the interior of the drop top out and wondering what originally covered the speaker on the back of the rear seat. Mine looks like there was a rectangular grill or something similar covering it. Anyone know or have a picture of what was there originally?

Being that 68 and 67 ragtops are almost identical, I went out to take a photo for you of my 68. The hard cardboard material that you see attached to the back of the rear seat is repeated, but is solid from end to end and curved down onto the trunk floor beneath the roof well to protect the speaker. Hope this helps.

My 68 300 convertible has an oval black piece of cardboard over that hole. Held in by the two screws. But my car has no rear speaker from the factory.

Ok, so doing a bit of sleuthing, I found another member on a different site who said he had one, but it was flimsy plastic and was broken into 3 pieces. He offered it to me for nada with some other stuff I bought from him, it showed up the other day, I managed to use "Plastic Surgery" and some thin washers to put it back together and reinforce the weak points around the screw holes. This is what it looks like. CG

My '69 300 had no backing. The speaker was mounted into a cut out for it and the top well cover hung over the back seat frame about 12" so when the seat was installed, the well cover was the backing.
