The car is "like new".
So you pay top dollar for a car that is "like new".
Then the "like new" car becomes a money pit on top of the "top dollar" because of things like this.
There's no free lunch.

300 cents.Heh.For a cars so old, you,re right..It is very clean. The bottom of the leaf spearing is very clean. What guys need to do is clean out the bottom of their car and brush rust converter on the bottom of the vehicle. The spray tar makes me a little nervous due to possible moisture trapment.I might be wrong though.B.B

Love concave coupes.B.B
Always liked this model also.
The first thing I look at is the quarter panel/fender skirt fitment.
Just a habit. I remember Dad telling me they had problems stamping the quarters and getting the skirts to fit right on the early 67s. He was glad he ordered Turbine Bronze as plants quit painting the dark colors till they got the qtrs right. The sharp break that runs through the wheel opening made that panel a challenge. Black really showed the waves at the wheel opng.

I'm not seeing the expensive lunch.

I think Stan's saying that it's not really 'like new' if it's cosmetically like new, but all the rubber bits are 'like 50 or so'.
You can pay top dollar and find out you need to replace brake hoses, all the bushigns everywhere, the seals on the Flow-Thru, all the weatherstripping, etc.

And FWIW, it's got some type of hitch on it, and the sideplates look to be only 1/8" thick, I'd rather see them a little thicker. And the tabs for what might be load-equalizing are in a terrible location right between those 2 frame holes.
