Way to go! Look forward to following your progress. Please do post pics along the way. We like pictures!
Ok, so I ordered a set of disc spindles from a 72 NY'er. Fairly decent price. He told me I'd need the caliper brackets so I'll have those too. Question is, do I use my original hubs or are the new rotors all one piece? I read the fury disc conversion advice thread on here and the parts numbers just don't look right. Which rotors do I really need? The front drums on this car were absolutely awful. Passenger side was totally frozen up. After some love taps I freed it up, but the drum wouldn't come off. I removed the hub/drum assembly and realized that the hub is basically welded to the drum. So totally unusable. The driver's side drum came off nice, but when I took the brake apart the wheel cylinder took a total dump. Whoever engineered drum brakes shoulda been slapped upside the head.
Floor pans look pretty decent. Hammer tested good. POR 15 the hell out of em. I didnt take the front seats out yet (just messing around today seeing what I got to work with.
That's a chunk on top of my distance NW of Sioux City. I'll just have to keep up on your progress from here and get some inspiration to tear into my original 300 that started my addiction to Mopars. If you need any small pieces and strike out with other people here, let me know. I have a soft spot for the '68 300s and still have mine that I got as my 1st car when I was 13.
I love this picture everytime I see it. All I can think of is that it is a secret entrance to an elevator that brings you down to an underground garage with hundreds of Mopars.
Started taking some easy stuff apart while bored. Was actually excited when the FIRST of whats gonna be a long line of parts came in today.
