I have read many posts and many point to the IRV3 as a replacement. There is a condenser that involved in the factory setup. I can not seem to find information if that is still required. Another part that can cause issues. Has anybody installed this unit and is the condenser necessary? Open to other remedies to a bad VL.

I have used the RTE limiter in many cars and I highly recommend it in any old Mopar regardless if gauges work fine.

On my own 68 Newport, I did not use the condensor.
I am not running points so no need.
On other cars I did this upgrade to, I did use the condensor as RTE mentioned just keep things looking original.
Hope this helps.
