Hi all,

I'm working on my '68 Newport and I'm wondering how I can replace the bulbs in my cornering lights. I can rotate the sockets but I can't seem to get them out. Is there a trick to it?

The bulbs come out the front.

Remove the bezel and the lens should pop off of the housing.

You'll likely find that the foam gasket between the lens and housing is in rough shape.

Thanks! I took the front bezel off yesterday but it looked like it was one piece. I was too scared to break it. I will try it tomorrow :)

I have a 1968 Newport and my corner lights look not a thing like those.

Are you talking about the cornering lights or the marker lights?

The marker lights are in the bumper and are small rectangular orange lights. The cornering lights are behind the marker lights in the bottom of the fender (in front of the front wheel) and turn on together with the turning signal. This was an option which apparently not a lot of Newports have.

They were optional, and more often found on Newport Customs.

A bit uncommon on base Newports.
