69 300 meets mid modern post office

I was out and about on a gorgeous North Carolina afternoon when I saw this oddly original mid century post office- stopped for a pic of what it might have looked like when cars and buildings were of similar eras - post yours! Love to see the history you’ve all have come across on your rides -
Btw- did a little research on the post office- opened in 1971!

Not only era correct it is the office (Fresno) this car was originally assigned to. Shortly after this picture was taken they moved into a new building.

That's a good idea. I was just in Holbrooke AZ this past week on a 3000 mile motorcycle trip thru AZ and UT. Holbrooke is TOTALLY rooted in the remains of mid-50's Route 66, as are portions of Flagstaff. Point is...I thought how fun it would be to have some pics of my car at the El Rancho Motel (ugh!), the Stagecoach Diner, and the Pow Wow Trading Post, and abandoned two-pump gas stations. Total kitsch, and our cars fit in perfectly.

You should have knocked down the handicap signs. That's the only thing that throws it off, and a small bumper scrape would add realism.
