Looks to be clean and solid. Seller needs to put plugs back in the trunk floor, great entry point for critters. At $12.5k it is probably over priced, especially in this market, but it is a nice rust free example and you sure can not bring one back for that price.

Seems like a nice car but I hope it gets finished after the repaint. I'm surprised how few codes the fender tag has, was that a Windsor thing?

'69 Mopar fender tags were noted for a lack of detail.

I looked at it when it was for sale locally. Not a bad car, bodywork was done well and paint is decent. Needs a few things to be finished on it, the new owner has done a few things to it since purchasing it. Oh and those wheels have to go!

Those look just like the ones that came with my 69 Monaco 500 from Windsor.

I've never seen a 69 tag that full, they're always light.

Actually, the brevity of the tag has nothing to do with the year ‘69. The codes often take up entire tag; depends on options.

It has to do with the plant and country of manufacture.

I agree that the codes on the tags are driven by options and the various plant protocols, just seems that a lot of '69 tags showed less codes than later years. But then again, I did not see them all!

I was going to say by federal law but by a quick check found this.

"A move to create a more systematic VIN scheme was made in 1968, with the enactment of Federal motor vehicle safety standard (FMVSS) No. 115, which took effect January 1, 1969. That standard required each passenger car to have a VIN that is permanently “sunk or embossed” on a part of the vehicle visible through the glazing by a person standing at the left windshield pillar."

    Here:
    Vehicle Identification Number Requirements

Then things changed for VIN's in 1983.

No, in 69 the VIN is under the windshield in the dash.
