hi guys,
ive got a tan 71 Fury Custom Suburban 2 seat wagon with green interior, its a factory dual snorkel 440 3.23 sure grip car.
dual exhaust was added.
has roof rack, HD cooling n suspension, am radio, front speaker. not alot of options......
it has a green interior, and i put in green buckets and console from a 69 sport fury, the console is soon to be functional. ( the original front seat was long gone, when i ist got it it had worn out 70s chrysler twin power blue 50/50 seats).
i put road wheels on also.
its not perfect by any means, there is rust in the lower tailgate and some spots on the body and spare tire well but nothing major, floors are solid.
motor trans n diff rebuilt, and i have a little wire bound notebook with all the maintenance records from the 2nd owner who actually went with the 1st owner to pick it up from the dealership. have the original bill of sale with trade in on too.
im wondering what a reasonable value is for it.
the reason im asking is that i have a "friend" in WA who has been bugging me for a long time to sell it and lately its gotten back to me that hes been bragging how he's going to flip it for 8500.
which is about 5 grand less than what hes offered........
i dont plan to sell it but im curious what an approximate realistic value is

That's a sharp car, a pic of the fender tag would tell a lot for folks who want to venture a guess at a value but as far as the "friend" IMHO he sounds like a D-bag. Someone on this site would probably give you more to keep and enjoy the car. Keep the car and enjoy it yourself, regardless of production numbers, there's not that many left.

I'm guessing that the front buckets don't match the back seat and if so I'm thinking around $7,000 but with the rust fixed, $8,500 or more.

Also, that friend, well I think I would no longer communicate with him and take him off your Christmas Card list.

as mentioned before a fender tag picture would help for those who are into numbers. A factory T-code Fury is relativly rare.

Pics of all areas with rust as well as pics of the interieur could help giving you a more detailed idear.
And you might get offers from lurkers on this board.

Your “friend” is an *** hole. The car is a beauty.

heres the body tag,
it shows the A35 HD tow pkg and 440 among the few options it has.
i will try dirtying up the tag n see if i can get more contrast.
here's a copy of the original bill of sale too.
it had blue 77ish new yorker seats in when i got it, ive put green 69 sport fury buckets in.
the console will be functional soon.
the plan is to put correct high back buckets (which i have) in once they have been upholstered to match the 2 tone green back seat

@marko -- just found this thread. Nice! Do you have any updates on your car?

thanks,
not done too much, completed the bucket seat console shift installation.
i had a green console and buckets from a 69 sport fury that i put in.
much better than the ratty blue 77 nyb 50/50 leather front seats that were in the car when i got it.
the console shift was finished after these pics were taken.
i generally put it on the road each summer, i will be doing that again this summer.
not really sure how much i will do to it other than drive/enjoy and maintain it.
it has some rust but i dont want to start in and wind up repainting it because i know i would prob strip it down and do a full colour change, i'd consider F4, F5, F6, J6 greens, or maybe Y2 sunfire yellow or Y6 citron gold..... the shade would be tarted up abit.
but id rather just enjoy it as is and not start spending
needs carpet and the cloth headliner conversion kit - the cardboard headliner is warping.
i have a new set of legendary white bucket seat upholstery i could recover the seats with but id rather not, at least at this time

Thank you. I really like the lines of the '71 Suburbans.

its 1 of 436 canadian market fury custom suburban 2 seat wagons ( 325 were 3 seat)
its 1 of 12 L1 beige canadian cs wagons
its 1 of 2 canadian 440 cs wagons

i do have a 70 power dome hood and 71 &0 hidden headlight grilles that i have been thinking about installing

And you would repaint it a different color? No way. L1 works well with green IMHO. Just be on the lookout for a pair of H4F7 seats if they ever come up in green:

I do like your console setup, but if you ever wanted to go full-on resto, that'd be good to have in stock :).

i do have a set of the high back 71 seat backs that i was planning to get redone to match the original 2 tone green back seat.......
