Hi all,
I’ve started to replace the drivers side door lock today. The lock has been hard to get the key in since I’ve bought the car, but within the last three weeks I cant get the key in at all. I went to take the cylinder out today and I can’t figure out how to get the rod disconnected from the mechanism in the door. Is there a clip or something that I have to disconnect to get the rod out? Thank you.

If the lock ease does not work, you really do not need to remove the rod from the door mechanism. I assume that you have the inner door panel off, look at the back of the lock cylinder, there is a metal U-Clip that holds the tumbler assembly to the door skin. Remove the U-Clip to free the tumbler and note the linkage rod for the lock has an S-Bend. The lock cylinder can be tilted after it is free from the door to clear it from the S-Bend in the linkage linkage.
