I am sure people are wondering about the C body show this year. Volo no longer has room to accommodate us, and the train museum doesnt work as well as we hoped, not to mention the admission fee scares some folks off.

Let's discuss ideas on how to keep this show going, and growing. I have plenty of space and can likely host an event like this.

The very first one was in October of 2017@ volo, then we went back to Volo in June of 2018, and June of 2019.

If planning starts now we can set something up for September or Early October.

Ideas? Thoughts?

Any local parks you can rent? We have some around here where you rent the entire park or just rent a pavilion and you get the parking lot that goes with it.

At those dates, perhaps it could be combined (for interested folks) with the 2025 CATL Drive. I always wait till the C-Body show before making an announcement re: the Drive, but perhaps this year I should proceed differently since the dates will be so close.

For example, if you picked a venue alongside or near Lake Michigan, might more folks from IN and MI join easily?

We did run a CATL to the Indiana Dunes Park a few years ago, and I'd rented a BBQ place for parking. That location would be about equidistant to Rockford (@71Polara383), Racine (@70 Sport Suburban) and Indy (@fury fan @david hill) -- about 2.5 hours drive each. BUT, it would make it harder to go back to your place afterwards.

I want a somewhat local venue for ease of organization to make it almost as good as what Tim has done in years past.

There is a field next to the shop I could see about getting permission to use from the neighbors or many parks/pavilions local to me we could make use of.

I think going forward for #10 I will hold the C body show the Saturday prior to the CMC Belvidere show (Saturday is usually the Charger show, the big day being Sunday)

Sounds good. Is there a lake that would be close by?

Wyatt, Thank you for carrying on this annual tradition.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to make everything line up, so you won't have to go into to all the planning blind.

Unfortunately I am a bit far from this show, but I will be following along. I would suggest on doing some kind of tribute to the late @LocuMob (Scott) if this show happens

I would be interested in coming back down for a get-together in or around the Rockford Illinois area, as long as you guys would let me. I came to realize why Scott was pressured me to join in the fun.
A later date would definitely be not as hot and humid. The 6hr drive + 90 degree heat last year really took a lot out of me and the Imperial.

I can’t believe it, so your not hosting this show anymore Tim?
I announced last year that the 8th annual C Body Show was going to be the last one I'd be doing in Illinois, because of my plans to leave Illinois in 2025. That ball is in motion and finding time to do anything right now is next to impossible.
I am sure there won't be any disappointments with Wyatt running things this year; he been at every show since the beginning and I am confident he will prove to be a good host in 2025.

I just brought the charger out here, maybe in the fall I would switch cars.
I'd like to do catl as well.

A fall show sounds good to me. Not as hot for me and whatever C I drive!
No bugs murdered along the trek either!
I Agree a memorial is in order for Scott.
An award in his honor maybe??

I like the idea of a park as long as there is grass/shade if it's in the warmer months and not right next to a jungle gym.

Here's another option - they have Miss Belvedere there from Tulsa. As long as museum admission would be optional for those concerned with the expense, it looks like they have grass space around it. Home - Historic Attractions

I am sure that many of you know of the Stahl's museum collection. I own about 2.5 acres of grassy field located less than 5 Mi away from the museum. It is also very convenient to I-94 and many restaurants, etc. Timewise, it could be scheduled to occur along with one of the many Mopar specific or car specific events that occur throughout the spring/summer/fall in Metro Detroit.

Not suggesting something for this year, but just thought I would see if that interested anyone.

Ahhh haaa. I think I do remember now saying that you were going to move Tim, so I’m sorry to hear you will not be hosting the show anymore but happy that Wyatt will be carrying on the tradition! Congratulations on getting outta Illinois too by the way.
