Another orphan found our driveway...

How much modifying are you going to have to do to get it into the truck or does someone make a motor mount kit for it?
Not sure what Zac is using but I would think you could use mounts from a 92-93 truck and modify as needed.

So your bringing Sabrina's truck towing the Bluemobile to Carlisle next year?
Right on.
I love the smell of diesel fumes and turbocharger whine in the morning!

I would absolutely love that!! We’ll see. Need a trailer first. Love the smell of diesel myself.

This is the plan. I bought some new mounts for it, for a ‘93 truck. Looks like it will bolt right in place of the 440 mount on the passenger side. The driver side had a plate bolted to the crossmember, moving the mount forward. I’ll probably have to drill some new holes for the plate, but other then that, it should be simple. Not sure about the trans crossmember yet. I’ve got the one out of the cummins truck. Might just need to drill some new holes for it as well.

The battle starts today. Limped mayble into work this morning. Carb is getting worse it seems. Had one foot on the brake, and the other on the gas at stop lights to keep her running.

She’s parked out back awaiting surgery after 5. The cummins is ready to go in. Still need to install the water temp sensor, with adapters. Going with the OE 440 sensor, to work with the stock gauge. Also needs a shift kit in the trans, but I’ll do it once it’s in.

Wish me luck! Hoping to have the front clip off, and 440 out tonight atleast. Hopefully maybe have the cummins going in.

Got an open trailer, arrangements can be made... wish I could come up to help.

Give her Hell Zac.. love you You jump in with both feet.. get’er done!! Keep us updated..

Thanks you guys! I appreciate it!

Taking a smoke break. She looks ripped open for surgery for sure lol. Inner fenders, and core support have a little rot. Might have to do something about it.

440 is next!

The wipers don’t want to come off, and I don’t wanna scratch the paint. So working around em at the moment lol.

The grouchy B!tch is out. Truck did not want to give it up. You’d think being a truck, it would come out easy, with lots of room. But not the case. The car was much easier....

Looks like it will be a direct bolt in swap. Might not have to use that plate for the driver side mount.

However, now the cummins is fighting me lol. Took the oil pan, and pickup tube off for more clearence. Also have to undo the front cab mounts, and jack it up a bit to clear. Fun fun!

I thought it would fit in without major surgery? Is it hitting the trans tunnel?

Yea it’s hitting. Was a real ***** to get in. Still need some fine tuning at the fire wall. The trans dipstick is hitting, as well as the rear line on the heat exchanger. Can’t believe how little room there is in the engine bay of this big *** truck.

Calling it a night. Back at it tomorrow.

Is that right where it needs to set? Or can you push it ahead some to clear the firewall?

That’s pretty much it. The cab still needs to come down a little too. There was another set of holes on the crossmember, but I’m afraid to move it forward more, and run into the core support. Still need to mount the rad. The core support runs right about that crossmember in front of the fan.

Hind sight being what it is... would you have had an easier time pulling the bed and cab, and then fitting the cab to the changes?

Either way, thanks for sharing... You Rock Zac:thumbsup:
