Hey Guys,

I've got a new Pitman arm for my 67 Monaco. The original is keyed onto the splined output shaft and has a rubber grease boot. The new one has neither. The geometry of the part seems fine but I'm wondering if I have the wrong part because of those differences. I know it's going to be a slightly larger PITA to get it on the splines in the straight position but didn't know if it would cause any other significant issues.

Let me know your thoughts and thanks!

By hand, rotate the spline CW and then CCW to the end of each travel.
Mark the ends with chalk.
Now swing the spline to dead center.
Install your Pitman Arm so it is pointing straight back.
Install your nut.
Be careful!!!!!! The nut strips easily. The FINE COURSE JAM nut is hard to find.
I bought several. Good thing I did.

It's that simple.

Pic of the old and new arm helps tremendously.

One of the splines on the original... not a very good shot, it's keyed in four different positions.

The foam washer takes the place of the rubber boot, no problem there. Commando gave good instructions on how to line it up.

Thank you, guys. I get a little twitchy when it comes to steering. It's one of those things you don't want to mess up.
