Why can’t I say no?? Hello, my name is Zac....

Picking up this old girl this week. She’s a 1996 2500 cummins Ram. 4x4 crew cab, long bed. Power everything inside. Has a built 47re trans. Low miles, 128k. One owner FL truck.

She needs an interior pretty bad. Dash is beyond toast, and front seats need some help. Needs a good cleaning.

She rides beautifully. Better then my 3rd gen truck.

Body is clean!! A couple dents here, and there. Really just needs a paint job.

Might replace my current 3rd gen with this one.

Looking at the bright side, that engine if properly cared for will live for 400-500k. Transmission was the weak point. Transmission probably with all the good upgrades is good for 100k if not abused. FYI. Check the frame rails under the cab by the rear seat for cracks. Paint it, upholster it and be happy, it will probably outlive your 3rd gen.

I LOVE my second gen Ram, it rides like a tank, gets the mileage of a small bus, but it runs great and looks great. Has power on tap and will pull anything.

I've put 30k kms on mine since I bought it last year. Its hauled everything since then.

I borrowed a 14x8 landscape from work to get some lumber for my dad today. Loaded and unloaded I didn't notice the trailer there behind me...

It will climb and run through anywhere at anytime. Soon as you plop it in 4WD it's ready to go.

I'm quite happy with mine if you haven't guessed lol.

You've already got the two biggest issues fixed on that one, the trans and the body in being in good shape

Oh don’t get me wrong. I’m happy as hell to get it. For sure lots of life left in her. More then my 3rd gen I’m sure.

Yes they are great trucks! I loved my old 2nd gen. Was a ‘98 quad cab 360 truck. Lot of more get up and go then my current 4.7 truck. The trans finally took a dump, and I didn’t feel like pouring more $$ into it at the time. It also was starting to have its fair share of rust. Traded it in on my current truck. She would haul anything you put behind it

This new one has everything I’ve been wanting. Cummins, 4x4, long bed

I originally hated due idea of it, but truthfully, it's incredibly handy to have. Especially on long trips, you can throw whatever in the back of the can and not take up space in the front seat.

I knew you’d come around. LOL I remember talking about it with you, when you were looking.

I could never have a standard cab, after a club/quad/crew/etc. extra room for stuff is nice, plus my big *** needs the extra seat travel lol

It's an illness... some do drugs... some do dodge's:lol:

the final outcome is that if you do too much you lose your family and friends...
But in this case you have a wife that supports your addictive habit!

Hey Zac. Box off ah 20X24 back corner of the new play pen, stuff ah 4X4 fan in the out side wall and hone your painting skillz. Stick with me young man and I'll help keep you broke. You do know all the good auto paints today are runnin' 'tween $300- $400 ah quart last time I bought rite? PPG, DuPont, Spies Hecker, lol

Thanks guys!! The back yard sure is a site lol

I got a chance to mess with it today. Gave her a quick bath, and cleaned out the inside.

I’m kinda liking the patina on it. Wondering if I do want to paint it..... I waxed the drivers side to see how it would kinda look with just a clear coat. Idk just a thought. I’d still try and fix the dents, redo the interior, and throw some new chrome on her.

Grabbed some oil, and a fresh filter to go on. Getting her legal monday. Will throw her into service tuesday.
