At first I needed just the mast, so I bought one that says it'll fit a 67 Chrysler and naturally it doesn't fit. Upon tearing the base apart it seems that my antenna was pressed on. So since I tore that apart I need a new base assembly. The mast I bought has a 1/4 20 male end on it.

I did find a setup on ebay for a 67 Plymouth, http://www.ebay.com/itm/310910636205?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

any chance that will work? Or could someone direct me to something that will work?

Does anyone else feel like they are constantly buying wrong parts? I also have a steering gear that was supposed to fit but does not...along with my power steering brackets, I'm not having much luck with this thing.

Last week I had to search for a correct antenna for my '67 Newport.
I ended up with the one at the above link because it was the only one that would:
1. Cover the factory 1-1/8" hole, and...
2. Had the base where you could mount the antenna absolutely perpendicular to the fender.
3. Retractable AND removable.

Be careful what you buy because of the contour of the fender surface.
Yah, it's a universal but there was nothing else out there.

thanks for the help, those things are littered all over ebay and parts stores. I was hoping to find something more period correct and still be mopar. Ill keep looking I guess, I don't have a working radio in it yet anyways, lol.

I bought the same one for my 300 and would describe the fit as "ok". It just barely covered the existing hole and doesn't snug real well. It works for now but I will continue searching for an original.

The AX-25 claims they will cover a 1-1/4" hole. Many of the universals won't cover the Mopar 1-1/8" hole.
Clamped down tight on mine but you are only dealing with 1/16th of an inch on each side so that thing has to be PERFECTLY centered.

Getting it centered was the biggest challenge. I was hoping that I could re-use parts from the original but no luck.

I refuse to actually take the time to open the garage door and take 3 pics.
That's rediculous but just visualize it.

No. More like a perfect 90 degree angle to a 360 degree plane.
And a crooked car at all four angles.

I used that universal one with power. The best part for me was that I had to make the new hole, so it is only 7/8". Still, the angle was set to just about it's limit to work side to side on that steep curve. It does stand vertical though.

Done!! I ultimately used the previously mentioned 67 Plymouth antenna and had to make up a spacer to allow it to fit. I took a flat washer that luckily fit on the base perfectly, all I had to do then was drill it out larger with a Dremel, drill bit would just bind and fling it. I now have a telescoping three mast antenna and it looks great!

I will get a pic up in the next day or so.
