Are the 65 & 66n inner fenders interchangeable on the Polara/Monacos?

Mine are pretty bitten up from previous rust.
I can get a pair at a great price from a 65.

I've tried looking online but haven't found anything to indicate for sure they can be interchanged.

i can repair these but if I can get a pair in good condition, why go to the trouble right?

Your advice is greatly appreciated!

This isn't a yes or no, like you probably wanted, but I looked up the part numbers in my 65 parts catalog, if you have one for your 66 you can compare them...
Inner panel #'s:
right-2461 794
left-2530 977

Outer panel #'s:
right-2461 778
left-2461 779

Sorry I have bad news for you, I checked my parts catalog for '66 and the numbers are different. The inner they have listed as 2800-672 & 3, the outer as 2531-818 &9. I was hoping they were the same for you. I did noticed that the inners are all the same for '66, the outers are different for Dodge.

Thanks for getting me this info.
I appreciate the efforts

Btw, where can I get a parts catalog to reference things like this?

The differnt P/N's could be as simple as an insignificant 1/4" hole. Pay it no mind. Investigate it further.

I was thinking the same thing.
The price is right on these I have my eye on.

i have a set available too. if you need photos to compare give a shout out.

Here is where I got my catalog on CD. Rockauto $24 it is listed as a 1966 Chrysler loose leaf parts catalog. It is a really nice reference with your service manual. I'm with Stan go check it out I bet it would work. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=3755652&cc=1492885

If you want the real McCoy I saw one on amazon for over $100. I would probably pay that for a service manual but not a part catalog. The manual doesn't fit on the screen well and I don't want a greasy computer, so I print out all the pages off my CD. I could probably by a hard manual from the cost of the ink cartridges.

understood. I have the service manual in this format.

I'll check out the parts manual. Thanks for the link!

Okay, so i did some more digging and cam up with a side by side thanks to VDK2010's link.

65 Polara
2461 794
2530 977
2461 782-2
2461 778-5
2461 791 battery tray

66 Polara
2800 672-3
2534 818-9
2461 778-9
2461 782-3
2461 791 battery tray

The fenders are real close in fact it shows that a couple parts are identical other than a sub #

And the battery trays are the same so it is looking real good.

You need to look into this some more, just having a different number doesn't mean it will not work. With fenders the only difference may be in the way the grill mounts, on later years in might be weather or not it has marker lights.

In short if they look the same you can probably make them work.
