I'm confused. Before I ask more questions, may I ask this.
    What does A38 include?
All the HD cop car goodies? Or all the HD fleet goodies as in taxis, cop cars, etc.

hey boss... i am NOT an expert. I say that up front so I dont come under attack for communicating my understanding. Others here are experts .. so I trust they will weigh in :)

somebody a couple years ago posted something here. more definitive than what i am about to say. I looked but cant find it and I gotta go to work.

The A38 package had mainly the ride/handling stuff -- firm feel steering, HD suspension, 140 mph (125 later) certified speedo, big ass brakes, etc. There were many OTHER fleet codes that could be added as well.

The K's ... nobody here yet to my knowledge.. reconciled the K content with the A38/F code options.

It appears to me there were NO such things as K VINs with A38 code. The K police content INCLUDED the A38 content, PLUS the F codes which were available at the time could be added to the K VINS.

Say it another way, (1) the A38 package plus F code options COULD result (except for interior trim of course in M and H second place VINs) in an UPLEVEL vehicle build that (2) equalled what a K VIN plus F code options COULD produce as well. this is MY speculation -- its logical based on how assembly plants operated then and even now to some extent.

So the argument STILL open in my own mind. Did K or Taxi VIN have body-in-white structural content (e.g., reinforcement welds) NOT included in non-K/F code/A38 cars?? I yield to superior expertise/knowledge to answer that.

The best I could tell my 69 DK41 did not have the extra spot welds or torque boxes or anything special, heck I wouldn't doubt they had less.

For me it is all about the prominence of the car restored as it was originally run. Having a package car and disregarding its history, why bother, to me it's no different than throwing a 318 in a Hemi car.

Did police cars back in the day really have a reddish shade on them in Texas?

Ones there, must of had a 'Tech' install it!

"and runs, drives and stops. The engine is strong, breaks are weak."

"The lightbar pictured stays in my collection. If you love vintage cop cars, its hard to find better."

    "Hawkeye"

Jackass seller in my opinion, I like sellers that say oh BTW this doesn't come with the sale, like the CL moron that wouldn't include the carb on a Fury listed a way back, it runs but won't run when I take my carb back... WTF, that'll generate sales.

"strong", "breaks", "weak" make up your mind what iz'it?

Oh and haven't we beaten up on this Hawkeye guy for a Bluesmobile conversion before?
    Thought he's in Austin TX.

Google his phone number, think he's bucking for a TV show.

I don't remember ever seeing or being stopped by a Police/DPS or Sheriff driving this color car.
Dallas Police did have Blue 1970 Fury's, replaced them with Matadors if I remember correctly , and I should ;). Most all Texas Police cars or DPS cars were B&W's, All White (some with black front doors) due to higher temps or there were some various city cars that were '69 - '70 Ford Galaxies that were the wonderful shade of pea green. There were more colors introduced by various municipalities in the late '70s onward.

If you ask me, this car was far cooler before it got plucked off CL back in the fall and subjected to a quickie respray & flip. Custom trim with no vinyl top.

This is the one comment on the car that got me ROFLMAO

"Comes with its own crime scene. Something or someone died on that front seat! Lol"
