Ball joint dust boot..

My driverside upper ball joint dust boot is gone. What I noticed is that the inside diameter of the top of the boot is much wider( about 2.33 inch) than the diameter of the ball joint itself ( about 1.81 inch). Is there a wrong boot installed or am I missing something ? Hope the pic explains it.
And ofcourse looking for a replacement. So if there's someone who can give me the exact dimensions of the ball joint maybe I can find one here:

I would just buy a new ball joint and install it. It will come with a new boot.

This is what most people do. The last time I checked, new boots were still available from the dealer but there was a minimum quantity purchase.
