Last weekend I got around to installing the new front shocks on my '75 Imperial (which was easier than I thought) so the front is on jack stands with both wheels removed. Got a good look at the ball joints and steering linkage and noticed all the grease nipples. This got me thinking and in my FSM it states that these should be lubricated once every 3 years. Pretty sure it missed at least a couple of those so I'm planning on greasing the lot of them.

Quick question though, just to be sure, but the multi-purpose grease already in my grease gun should be good right? I think it's lithium based.

It should be fine, I grease mine every oil change. Some may argue, however I work part time in a garage with a now 89 year old man that has been a mechanic since 1958. Every oil change he and I have performed in the 15 years I've worked with him is a "total" service. We grease whatever is there. Most of the time its just a squeeze or two. But, grease keep these things alive.

They call the service "Lube, Oil, and Filter.
