Bombing around in the beater Imperial

Right around the corner from my house...
Oh yeah? Very nice! Xenon gave his personal recommendation that I should take my diff to Suburban Driveline to be set up.
A good friend of mine also owns an auto shop in Glendale Heights, which isn't too far away either. He replaced most of the front suspension and is also a Mopar guy.

Yeah, maybe you know my buddy Ron? He's more into the FWD turbo Shelby cars and Neons, but does own an early 70s Duster and just sold a 1970 Plum Crazy 340 Challenger

Here's my version of an old car in the snow, the Avenger.

A four wheel drive going 25-30 mph when I was cruising around at 55 like it was a snowmobile. Truth be told, I'd have been off the road in an old rear wheel drive car today driving the way I was, 40 would have been pushing it.

A few members have expressed an interest in the formal seats I installed in Blimp so instead of cluttering up someone else's thread, here's some pics and info.
Although the original rear seats were in very good shape, the front had seen better days.

So when a nice set of black seats from a 75 Imperial popped up, my son and I traveled to Ohio and picked them up.

The front seats and rear bottom went right in place as you would imagine. The rear back wasn't an exact fit, but not to the point that it was a problem. The formal rear back is not as wide as a fuselage, you can see above.
As I mentioned earlier, if someone is having a difficult time finding a really nice set of black seats, I'd take these back out and let them go. Although I think the black seats break up some of the monotony of all the blue, I could reinstall my original rear seats. Then put in this clean set of fronts removed from a coupe that have the same fabric pattern.

That way not only am I helping someone else out, but I could clear up some garage space...it takes up a lot of room storing seats!

Thanks Mike, like Tim mentioned in Marty's thread, they are super comfortable.

Do I see green accessory mats? If you want to get rid of them, you know a buyer...

Wasn't really able to determine what that floormat was originally from. I just used it because I didnt have anything else at the time. Here's a couple pics.
Groovy green floormats
I'm almost positive I removed them from this Imperial.

If you truly need them for your own personal use send me a PM.

Shot up to the car wash today to blast off the winter grime, then April and I picked up some groceries.

So far, today was the nicest day of the year (40's and sunny), so I spent most of it in the driveway enjoying the weather. Among other things, at a leisurely pace I replaced the leaky old cork valve cover gaskets with a composite set...it was a fulfilling day!

Today my oldest daughter (fourteen) drove unassisted for the 1st time! Deserted country 2 lane blacktop, she putted along at a slow pace for about a mile...she was very excited:steering:
