Beautiful 88 degrees with a mild wind. 501cui dual hemis, a wonderful sound and a Dodge rampage, diesel powered, and a classic dodge challenger brought by first time group to run.
I really want to go someday. My son and I have a half baked plan to go in my Charger. Not to run it, but showing up in a rental car will tarnish the experience.
I would love to take your Scat Pack to Bonneville and run her back and forth WOT a couple of times too.
In the fall you can, the SCTA/ BNI runs a course for entrance into the 130mph club, street cars and helmet. 150 mph club requires a roll cage and other safety apparatuses. Both sanctioned events, and officially timed. My only bucket list item.
I've talked to the guy that runs that Green '84 'Page several yearz back. He's on the Rampage/Scamp site and this iz not hiz 1st rodeo on the salt. Look close and you can see that their'z ah cage in that Screamin' Little Beast too. He's lookin' to join the 200 Club ... Thankz for the pix, Jer
yes , i'm looking at the 200club as well . one of my many projects is a salt racer . using a 38 dodge p/u shell , and looking at two motor classes , xo and xxo . both motors are pre 1959 , a 56 chrysler , a 55 desoto , and ci limited ( 325 and 371) , but both are blown n injected . been gathering parts for years now . not a cheap hobby , vintage cars , and to race them is even more costly .
Just keep your head down and your mouth closed. Bugz are ah bitch at speed AND THEY TASTE BAD TOO, lol. My best waz 125xx on two wheelz at the old Fontana 1/4 mile track shortly after the tree replaced the flager's. So I know from what I speak 'bout when you laugh and yer flyin'. You must be a good customer with that Early Hemi Speed Shop in Mena, Ar.? G.L. with your chase, Jer
