Well I just got the car (65 New Yorker) legal to drive on the road. Took her to the gas station and noticed that the brakes seemed kinda spongy so I an going to bleed them today. What brake fluid do you guys recommend?

I've tried the silicon stuff...not worth it for the price...unless you have a trailer queen and are concerned about possible paint pealing. As suggested...good old Dot 3 is what I use.

Brake fluid is one thing people do not service regularly. I do a complete fluid flush on my vehicles every year...to two years. Since I started doing this, many years ago now, I can't recall having any component failures in the brake systems. ;)

You can also use DOT4 I think the only difference is a higher boiling point than DOT3. You don't need the DOT5 silicone fluid
