I am looking at buying one. Anything I should watch out for? Aside from the usual stuff like rust under the truck carpet and blowing smoke! I know about the water sitting in the front of the fenders behind the headlights on those cars and I know to look for all the impossible-to-find trim parts...

Thanks for any insights.

Sounds like you already what you need to look for. Things like an Aero steering wheel, dual antennas, right side mirror, gravel guards..... etc. Everything is hard to find for these cars, so the more the better.

I do have a couple of nice head light trim rings.

I got a few more pics from the guy before deciding. Underneath is remarkably clean. The trunk lip is fairly rotted but nothing TIG cant fix. I am guessing standing water against the seal. The whole car looked so complete I couldn't pass it up. Everything is there and there is only one tiny crack in the steering wheel. Original owner family sold it to dealer at a car coral. Dealer sold it to me. I don't mind a bit, I would have never found it. I've been studying the Virgil cars. I think this is the epitome and the first year of the unit body. I even preferred a 4 door because I always like the car from the Heat of The Night when the bad guys drove it. Like wanting a 68 charger after seeing Bullit. They had to detune the mopar so the mustang could keep up!

I'll get it here likely by month end. I'll put it on the road for the summer. Either this winter or next winter i will tear it apart and give it a resto.

Thank you Todd, now please go start your own for sale post and be sure to include lots of clear photos for us tire kickers to enjoy your car.

This is not because you "hijacked" someones thread, we do that all the time. This is because a forum appropriate car, like yours, deserves a legitimate selling attempt in here (and I just want to drool on my keyboard). Please include the asking price as well (per forum policy).
