Just a suggestion of a feature I use on other car forum sites. A car part out section. Where you can part a complete car without posting many threads in different forum sections.
I would certainly welcome a car part out section and believe it would be well supported due to the scarcity, lack of and overall unavailability of parts.
With the lack of aftermarket parts and the number of Cs being parted, it might make more sense here. Some parts you don’t know you need until you see it on the car being parted, or you are putting something together and realize that you need it. The person parting will sometimes throw unknown miscellaneous junk away not realizing it’s a valuable 1970 only convertible top switch button, or not want to bother taking apart every nut and bolt and listing it individually. I think a virtual junk yard would get a lot of activity because they any are Cs.
I would like to see a parts car forum here. There's limited resources for "C's" and most Chryslers, Dodges and Plymouths that the guys on this site own and work on. I've been looking for a few things for my '62. One year only designs and rare cars make the search more difficult. The lack of responses on FABO may be because there's a lot more cars to start with, design carry over and the aftermarket providing much more parts and supplies. Just my 2 cents worth.
Thanks, I will put about 15 cars in here and keep it active. I'm not a wrecking yard vendor. Just a guy who collects up stray junk cars like a crazy cat lady collects stray cats. This will help move some of what I call the (dumb parts) that I might not think of pulling or listing because I didn't recognize them as needed to me.
