Switching from a Carter 2V to a Carter AFB. Looking for the carb to bellcrank linkage (The one with the adjustable slotted end) for a '65 383 Newport.
Here is pic of the 2BBL linkage for reference. For you number cruncher's I THINK the part # is 2465429. The description is unclear.
The slotted end is not necessarily needed.
Thanks to all who respond.

Good Afternoon
Thanks for the reply.
It LOOKS like the 2 bbl linkage that I have.
Not sure what a 4 bbl link is suppose to look like....

Don't know if this will help, or not. This is the AFB linkage on 65 413. My 65 383 AFB appears to be identical . . .

Curious, so I went back to my trusty parts book. Looks like bell crank to carb rod is same for everything (#2268356). That's the rod with the slotted end. But the bracket lever to bell crank rod is different between 2 and 4 bbl. That's where you need the #2465429 rod.

Great pic. The cable bracket that I have now (2BBL) is set further inboard, approx 3/4 inch. My '65 parts book lists the bracket as 2465425. Says it 383 (partial (?) Doesn't mention any other V8.

I used the 2-bbl 361 linkage on my '66 Coronet for a long time. After sorting through my linkages, I found the right 383 4-bbl in my stash. If I have a second one, I'll let you know.

The 3/4" offset for the cable makes a big difference, though it wouldn't appear so, by just a visual glance.

I show 2536828 as being the proper cable bracket for the bell crank on a 4bbl 383 (different than the 413/440), and 2536429 being the correct carb to bell crank rod for a 383. This is in the factory '66 parts manual however.
