carb spacer

Nothing new under the sun! The same thing that GM sold in the earlier '70s, plus Holley, to allegedly help with carb percolation in hot weather. Except this one seems to have an additional spacer in the mix. By observation and experience, more hype than real benefit. PLUS with no "travel limiters" in the spacer/gasket mix, a GREAT way to snap a carb base plate as you might seem to torque-down the carb nuts.

An engine can make more power with a cooler air going TO the carb, but it takes a certain amount of HEAT to vaporize the gas as it goes through the carb and in the intake manifold. Will cool fuel vaporize as well or as quickly as warmer fuel? NO.

From my experiences, you can spend the same amount of money in other areas to ensure better engine performance. But it looks neat and it's something you can point to and say "Look what I bought . . ."

Just some thoughts,
