My 70 Sport Fury needs a bunch of work I need to start on, so I'm starting to revisit some questions I've had for a while now. When I started the original restoration, I think it's about 8 years ago now, I purchased a carpet from ACC. Standard black, and the fit is appalling. I had to stuff material under the hump section, as the carpet has WAY too much material. It still fits and looks like garbage, and want to replace it, but only if they've fixed the damn mold.

So, my question is, has anyone recently bought and installed a carpet for a 70 Fury (it can be a convertible, as I'm mainly concerned about the driveshaft/"shift" hump section), and if so, how does the carpet fit? I'm not going to bother buying another one if it's still a lousy fit.

I think I remember someone telling me that the hump on some of the other C-Bodys were higher during this era, which would explain the ill-fitting on the Fury.

Floors are basically the same on all '65-'73 C-bodies. The ACC carpet still fits like crap and the rubber backing they use makes it an absolute pain to work with. I just reinstalled the carpet in my GT monday and I still hate the way it fits...

Wish there was alternatives but all we got is that junk or good used original, maybe if youre REALLY lucky NOS

Thanks for the response. I kind of figured nothing would have changed. I think we're at the point/age with these cars that whatever we can get, is about as good as it's ever going to be and should be thankful there's something. Everything for them just gets harder and harder to find.

Usually the complaint is not enough material.

How much did you trim off the edges?
