Cars that made you want one

There! Deleted it again!
1st. XKE - I was 6 or 7 yrs old. The first car I remember that looked like no other.
2nd. Stingray - The next great looking car. The launch anticipation of the 63 vette was as big or bigger than the Mustang.
Still have a soft spot for the 62 Dodge and Plymouth as these were Dad’s first company cars thus the first new cars the family drove.

Later on my very first car qualifies as a dream car still. I bought a 68 Charger from an engineer that worked with Dad. Already rusted through the rear valance and rear window. But it was mine!

This would apply to most modern tv shows.
One would think. I was just fishing with that question. As it turns out, the person I was asking has, in fact, never saw any car on TV that he wasn’t glad he didn’t have.

I grew up about a block away from a Dodge dealership, I used to go there when the new models arrived (late 60's early 70's.) I wanted all of them, still do.

‽‽‽ No idea what you are talking about
Yeah, the ipad crapped out. It doesn’t work well with this site.
Post was to be a reference to the mopar convertibles Miss Jane drove on The Beverly Hillbillies.

Watching tv is my escape of reality and not to be discussed with what i saw afterwards

The first time I saw this movie, I knew I wanted a car like that.

For me there were far too many. One of the earliest I remember was my oldest brothers, 61 New Yorker and several 69 - 71 Newport's and New Yorker's. Scatter in a few 74-76 Fury's, a 72 Polara ex Andover Ohio Pursuit and a 69 2-door Polara. The one that got a way for me was a 73 triple white NYB but it all started with a 66 300 4-door hardtop that my father had. This is NOT the car but it's the correct color sans bubble on top.

There was also a '65 or '66 Fury III that was converted by FF Ferguson in the UK, which was pictured in an article on AWD in Popular Science or similar, in about '67 or so? Or maybe it had been converted to FI by a European supplier?

At that time, we only had "4WD" that was for trucks and such, which required many special components to make it work, as crude as it was. The automatic AWDs were just coming onine in many Euro brand cars.

I shared my stepdads story, now I'll share mine. I love C-bodies and always will. But, when the show was still on, I loved seeing the Adam 12 police cars. I don't know, there was just something about them, besides them being Mopars. Maybe the car chases or the interiors. But, I wanted one ever since, sadly I still don't have one. Now that a few people are recreating them, I want one even more. Hopefully someday. IMO it's weird how they used Plymouths in the early seasons, but switched to an AMC in the later seasons. Either of these 3 will work for me

Yup, I liked those too.
The AMC Matador “Enforcer” had its share of screen time in the 70s for sure! They were ok but, never had the menacing look of a Mopar!

Its ain't strange because that's what LAPD was using.
Many PDs tried the Matadors and were sorry. They didn't hold up well.
I knew a HP Sgt who drove one. Said they were quick but no top end like the big MoPars and were crap.
