I knew of this Chrysler for awhile and wondered if or when it would surface. It did and it’s now in the Taj-Garage. On another post, of mine, about wheel covers photos were shared but I figured to move the vitals here.

For now I’ll add some shots of “The Cat”!

300L 4-speed. What a great car to find and to acquire.
Congrats.

Looks very nice! No hood pad?

Great score!

No hood pad now but the build sheet is under the rear seat and it looks to be in very nice condition. The seats were taken out by me. The bs may tell a different story.

When time becomes available I think I take it out. I have done upholstery work so it seems worth securing it and correctly storing it.

What do you think?

Is it typical to find more than one build sheet in a slab side?
In my 71 NYer, I found and removed one from under the back seat, and one tucked in the rear seat bezel.
There is another one still remaining under the front bench seat that I haven't tried to remove but can see its in great shape too.
Just wondering if the earlier models had similar, multiple build sheets.

I only found this one, so far. I didn’t see any under the front seats.

That is quite a find. Nicely optioned and a 4 speed. It doesn't get much better than that. If there is no sound deadener / factory undercoating on the underside then there would be no hood insulator. At least that was that way in '68. Awesome garage you have there too.

Lucky man, 300Ls are a thing of beauty, was lucky to ride in one many moons ago.

And silver no less!! That’s killer, congrats! You SUCK!!

Here’s a few more photos and the fender tag information.

I’m examining the engine as it obviously is a top priority. The carburetor will need help. Two extra gas tanks were included.

The A/C is not connected but some additional lines came with it.

I’ve been investigating and reading here about changing over the single brake master cylinder to dual.

I’ve learned a lot over the past few years from all the input here and please feel free to share your thoughts on this “Cat”.

Great car!

(edited)

So - you even have the correct unsilenced no snorkel air cleaner.

What's the issue with the carb? It should be an AFB (can't tell from the photos on my phone). If it were a 66 440 with man trans the carb number would 4130S. I don't know what it is for a 65.

The pad on the front of the block will say the engine designation I believe, but you have to lift up the compressor to see it.

Looks like (can't tell for sure looking at the pics on my phone), that it's missing the rad shroud too. AC cars had a rad shroud.

Rad hose is an easy fix.

Respectfully (and you may alreay know this), the air cleaner is not correct for a 1966 Chrysler 440 4bbl dual exhaust car. If it were a single exhaust car yes, but on a 300 L I find it unlikely that the base level 440 is what was ordered... I could be wrong! :)

That air cleaner looks right to me for a 300L. They had an unsilenced cleaner with no snorkel.

Sharp eyes - thanks. I have edited my original post. I thought I could see the edge of a snorkel near the booster in his pics, but it's the nipple for the PCV or CAP stuff, yes?

So - his motor would look great with the available 65 chrome air cleaner and valve cover package!

I did a 66 version with the dual snorkel:

300L came out with the 413 in 1965, not sure what you're on about.
