My Note: I have know idea what the white stuff is on the right front wheel.

Looks unmolested . . . original chrome air cleaner/valve covers. I'd love to see the build tag. Might be a little pricey . . . but how many 426W 65 Monaco out there? I know of only 2 originals (and maybe a butchered 3rd one). . . and I've been following these cars for over 25 years now. All I know is I'd sure like to have one (if I only had the garage space!). Perhaps our 426 expert Stan could provide some insight into the topic?

yea there was a 1965 426 Sport Fury bondoland version bouncing around Craigslist & Hemmings for even more stupid money 4 or 5 years ago, sigh.

I have seen/know of 4 '65 Monacos with the 426W and automatic. Until I purchased my car I had never seen/nor heard of a '65 Monaco 426W 4-speed. I purchased my first '65 Monaco in 1991, so from that point on my 4-speed is the only one I personally have ever encountered. I think it is quite hilarious when people trash the 426W,it was factory rated at 365hp and the 440 was rated at 350hp in 1966. And the 426W is on the more rare side of big block production.

There was a '65 426 Monaco in a junk yard near me about 20 years ago. White automatic with black interior. The chrome covers and air cleaner were still on it. The car was so rusty that the top of the air cleaner was rotted through, and the valve covers weren't much better. The car had been sitting in some really damp location for decades before coming to the yard.

If this is indeed fact(and I am not doubting you, lol)than that would bring the total to 5 automatics with the 426W. I would assume this one is long gone by now..........

Yes, it's long gone. It was in there for years, but probably got crushed when scrap prices got high. The car was so bad that there really wasn't anything usable on it. I'm sure the engine was rusted and seized beyond repair.

Not sure if this is of any interest, but some Correct Crafts came with 426 wedge motors. They are reverse rotation. This one belonged to a friend of mine.

Is there a way to provide a picture or pictures of interior and data plate?
