I bought a custom steering wheel. It uses their own hub. There's a gap between the horn button and the hub and does not make a connection. I don't have a hub puller in me at the moment but I have the original horn pieces.
With the original horn it looks like when you push it in it compresses that spring part making the connection. This one just has s single wire going to the horn and doesn't really use any actual pressure, all electrical. If I pull the hub and compress this piece behind the hub I'm wondering a couple things. Will it just make my horn blast non stop, will it just sit in there compressed and do nothing, or will it compress and make the connection I need and only go off when I hit the horn? I'm guessing one of the first two.
