I bought a custom steering wheel. It uses their own hub. There's a gap between the horn button and the hub and does not make a connection. I don't have a hub puller in me at the moment but I have the original horn pieces.

With the original horn it looks like when you push it in it compresses that spring part making the connection. This one just has s single wire going to the horn and doesn't really use any actual pressure, all electrical. If I pull the hub and compress this piece behind the hub I'm wondering a couple things. Will it just make my horn blast non stop, will it just sit in there compressed and do nothing, or will it compress and make the connection I need and only go off when I hit the horn? I'm guessing one of the first two.

You need to GROUND the horn relay to make your horns blow. Thats what the original horn switch does. See if you can wire the new hub so that you can use it to make that ground connection for your horn relay. Otherwise, ditch it.
