convertible top cables

Looking for some help here. My 66 sport fury convertible has two cables in the back corners running from the frame to the rear quarter panels. Can someone tell me what purpose these serve and where can these be sourced from.

I have noticed those on my 66 300. I honestly don't know what their purpose serves. You will need to find used ones. I would post them in the wanted section and a member might have a set.

Hi Mike they are tensioning cables for the rear bow on the frame on the top.

Tom I rarely see them because the top is always down.

I couldn't even remember their exact location.

Thanks for the help it’s is what I thought. I wasn’t overly concerned because I only use the car when the top is down. I will see if I can located them if not I do believe the supplier of the top will make them.

i couldn't find new. i ended up getting a pair from nigel at National Moparts

I have dealt with these guys in the past and find them pretty helpful. Will give them a try.
