Cruise control stalk

Have a busted cruise control switch and was able to snag this extra stalk from a yard. Hoping someone can give advice on how to properly dissasemble this brittle plastic so I can make a one good switch out of both

There has been one for sale on eBay for $125.00 that looks to be ready to install.

i once tried the same,and i manage to destroy it.
you cant get the plastic part out from the metal(it is glued or pressed into it)
there is a little lockring inside of the chromed plastic part,you can take it away with needle or something like that.
then it slides away and and there is very fragile metal clips that connects the wiring,and a spring that flys away when you open it.
i dont recommend to do that,change the whole stick instead.
but maybe you want to sell the old one to me?
